Nootkatone is approved as a flavor and fragrance1 in the USA, EU and Worldwide. Nootkatone has not been classified as a carcinogen by NTP, IARC, or OSHA2; or as being genotoxic (EFSA2, as well as Evolva’s studies). Class IV is the lowest possible EPA acute toxicity classification.
